1) Arrival and registration (30 minutes): Upon arrival we request you to meet the receptionist, who will help you through the registration formalities.
2) Initial testing (30 to 60 minutes): A detailed history consisting of eye symptoms, relevant medical and surgical treatment taken will be documented along with a relevant preliminary examination by trained and qualified optometrists. This will include vision testing, pachymetry and tonometry. During this time, you may also be seen by other members of our clinical care team.
3) Subsequent examination (30 to 60 minutes): You will then be examined by the glaucoma consultant who will complete the examination with a slit-lamp examination, gonioscopy and fundus examination, where not contraindicated. Once the above steps are completed and your eyes have been dilated (if needed), your doctor will meet with you for the examination, diagnosis and explanation of treatment, as well as to answer any questions you may have.
4) Procedures: (60-90 minutes): Certain additional procedures (provocative tests, automated perimetry, gonioscopy, UBM, disc morphometric analysis with OCT, lasers etc) may be required. These additional tests will be done after discussing with you. It may be possible to schedule them on that very day or as per your convenience on an alternate day.
5) Additional tests done are then reviewed (15 to 30 minutes based upon the complexity of eye condition): Subsequently, the glaucoma consultant will discuss with you, about your glaucoma, offer practical treatment options in your context and help you make a logical choice. Every effort is made to adhere to the time schedule. We will try to complete the entire glaucoma workup including state of art / cutting edge investigations in 4 hours. At times it can take longer.
6) Treatment (30 minutes): Based upon the diagnosis, possible treatment may be done at this time.
7) Check-Out (15 minutes): Future appointments will be scheduled, and pending payments completed.
